- This specific company manufactures different sizes and colors of brick. Job duties for the general labor openings include: Blending, Repack, Cutting Brick, Waxing, Hand Setting.
- Will be running equipment to place the banding material around the strap of brick and to also put the cross strap on the cube. Be aware of the machine and strapping tool operation to assist with any repairs needed. A roll of banding weighs approximately 40 pounds, edge protector 25 pounds and are lifted to a height of four feet. A lot of twisting and bending involved with any of the jobs performed.
- Cutting the face off brick to be used in display panels. Place brick from a cube or pallet onto a conveyor that goes to the saw. Watch as brick is moved from conveyor to a saw feed belt, from the saw blade to brick washing and from washing to drying. Take brick slabs that have been washed and places them onto a conveyor that feeds the brick slab dryer. Once out of the dryer this person takes the slabs and puts them onto a cart or box depending on what the slabs are to be used for.
- Inspect brick and grade to specifications provided by company standards.Based on chips, cracks, size and distortion, color range etc. All brick handlers must have good equilibrium as this is a standing job task. Brick handler must understand lifting, body positioning movements to avoid injury from the repetitive nature of this job task.
