What You Will Be DoingWe are seeking a Lab Manager that will oversee central and remote lab activities in the Utah market.
This individual will be responsible for the day to day lab testing of all aggregates, asphalt and concrete produced.
This person will coordinate will all areas of the business to ensure that quality products are produced to meet our customers' expectations.
In order for this person to be successful he/she must be committed to a safe work environment and be able to convey the importance of this to his/her team members.
He/she must be a technically oriented person with the specific abilities to read and understand specifications and technical material.
He/she must be detail oriented, able solve problems and recommend solutions with minimal supervision.
What You Need for this PositionMore Than 3-4 Years of experience and knowledge of:
o Safety oriented, with a personal commitment to creating a safe work environment
o Extensive experience with of AASHTO AMRL/CCRL certification programs
o Working knowledge of Stonemont Solutions Software
o Extensive experience with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
o Advanced oral and written communication skills
o Detail oriented
o Excellent customer service skills
o Excellent time management and planning skills
o Ability to multi-task
o Advanced knowledge of quality control testing for aggregates, concrete, and asphalt
o Ability to create a team that recognizes the importance of a safe work environment
o Ability to delegate work and oversee its completion
o Ability to manage up to 20 full time employees
o Ability to oversee QC operations of multiple laboratory locations and ensure orderly, efficient, and accurate day to day lab activities.
o Ability to problem solve
o Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required, or equivalent.
o Preference given to Licensed P.E. in Civil Engineering in the State of Utah
o 4+ years of work experience in Quality Control / Quality Assurance of Construction Aggregates, Ready Mix Concrete, or Hot Mix Asphalt
o 3+ years of Supervisory experience
